Text
Martim Brion
Res Extensa interrogates the porous boundaries between artistic disciplines, treating the exhibition space as an active participant rather than a neutral container. Drawing on the Cartesian concept of the “extended thing,” Martim Brion explores the mutability of form as it navigates the tension between structural containment and spatial liberation. By allowing sculptures to descend into the architecture while simultaneously introducing subtractive voids into the Perspectives Series and figurative echoes in the Form Macabre photographs, the exhibition collapses the silos of painting, sculpture, and photography. The result is a unified field of shifting vectors, where material, light, and geometry converge to redefine the limits of the practiced form.
